Leading owners Suzette and Basie Viljoen, intent on scaling similarly impressive heights as thoroughbred breeders, will present the first-ever draft of their Hopes and Dreams Stud at the Ready To Run and Unbroken Two-Year-Old Sale at Hollywoodbets Durbanville on Sunday.
The Viljoens have steadily developed the Wellington farm, which now houses 92 mares, including their Equus superstar Captain’s Ransom, with three more mares en route. Already, 24 foals have been born on their emerging establishment. There are 21 yearlings in their paddocks and a further five on their way from Kwazulu-Natal.
Suzette Viljoen commented: “Hopes and Dreams Stud represents what its name says. We hope and we dream of breeding a champion. My lifelong dream has been to have a wine farm with horses, and now I am living my dream. All the Glory to God.”
Hopes and Dreams provided notes on their five-horse consignment:
