Cape Racing Presenter, Brandon Bailey, shares his racecard preview for Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Monday, 22 July.
Race 1
This is a lovely race to open up the race meeting. 4 PLEASE BE TRUE ran a cracker on debut when coming from the clouds to finish fourth. He was still very green and with natural improvement he should go very close to winning. 10 MYSTIC MAJESTY drops back to the sprint trip after running a very good race last time over 1400m. He looks to be progressive, and he should be right there at the finish. 12 LATE DECEMBER is a smart horse. He is a magnificent looking gelding that will keep improving with racing. If he doesn’t need the run badly from a small break, he will go very close in this race. 9 ARCTIC WIZARD comes back from a small break. He ran a lovely race on debut when beaten just over 3 lengths at the wire. He should improve nicely and must be included in your bets.

Race 2
It’s the start of the Bipot and it looks to be an absolute two horse race on paper. 8 LANDOFTHERISINGSUN is a very smart colt. He was only beaten by the draw last time. He has been crying for this sort of trip and he may take a power of beating with some luck in running. Follow him, he could be a nice horse for the Cape Summer season later in the year. 10 CUMBRE VIEJA has done nothing wrong to date. He’s been in cracking form. There is no doubt that he has been looking for this sort of trip and if he can beat a tricky draw, he will give Landoftherisingsun lots to think about. 9 SOUND OF THE SEA has been very consistent in his career, he steps up in trip and he should be able to sneak into the places. 6 GNARLY is interesting. He ran against winners in his last start when finishing just over seven lengths behind the winner. He could run into the back end of Quartets.

Race 3
The first leg of the Place Accumulator begins in Race 3. 6 SAHARA CAT will be very hard to beat in this race. She is back in trip which should help her chances. Her last run in the Irridescence Stakes was very good when beaten just over three lengths. Now that she is back sprinting, she will take a power of beating. 3 MARITZBURG MEMORY won a super race last time. This is a big step up in class for her, but she is improving, and she may be able to finish in the places. 5 POLYNOMIAL won very impressively on debut in a big field. The yard thinks quite a bit of this individual, she is the unknown in the race and could be anything. 7 ARTISTE was well beaten in the Listed Somerset 1200. She is clearly much better than that run, she may be able to bounce back to form and finish into the back end of Quartets.

Race 4
The bet we all want to catch is the Pick Six. It starts in Race 4. 14 PRETTY PRECIOUS comes back from a small break of 111 days. She is in great form at present. This looks to be a perfect race for her to exit the maiden ranks. 6 CHAMPAGNE KISSES could be a huge danger. She moved up like a winner in her last start before showing signs of being very green. She will improve tons and tons with racing and should go very close in this race. 9 PINK MOON has been knocking on the door in a big way. She ran a great second last time and there is no reason why she shouldn’t be amongst the places again. 13 UNITED WE STAND drops back in trip after being very disappointing over further last time. She looks to be at home over this trip and she could be one to include in your Quartets at a decent price.

Race 5
The first Jackpot begins in Race 5 and it’s very tricky. 8 GROOVEJET will go very close in this open maiden. He was a touch unlucky not to have finished closer last time when running on well to finish second. He’s still very much a big baby that is learning with every start, this looks to be a nice race for him to go very close. 14 GOLDEN GREY will need all the luck in the world from a bad draw. He will probably drop out and if he can get some luck in transit, he may be able to flash up late and run a cracker. 3 AMANCIO gets a nice draw. He’s much better than his last start. The apprentice has been booked to take off 4kgs and that will absolutely give him a massive each way chance. 6 HEROIC POWER ran a lovely race last time when finishing six lengths behind Song To The Moon. That was his first run in the province and with natural improvement he should be able to give a good account of himself.

Race 6
The second Jackpot starts now. This is probably the trickiest race on the card. 10 FUTURE PRINCE looks cherry ripe. He moved up to run a cracking third in the Winter Mile behind Sugar Mountain. He will need lots of luck from a tricky draw here, but if he gets the right run, there is no doubt he will be the horse they all need to beat. 2 OTTO LUYKEN ran a good race last time behind Flower Of Saigon, they challenged him very early at the top of the straight and he fought hard all the way to the line. He gets a good draw here and he should be right there at the finish. 6 SOLAR POWER returned to form nicely last time. He clearly did not enjoy his travel to Johannesburg where he lost form completely. If he can bring that last run to the track, he will go well. 11 ALLEZ MORIS returns from a small break. A nice type that will need some luck in running from a bad draw, he must have a place chance here.

Race 7
It’s a small field, but a very competitive race. 7 TWICE THE MASTER has been rested for 83 days. He stays well and he’s been in very good form of late. He will keep grinding all the way to the line, include him in all your bets. 4 MISTER MONOCLE ran a much better race last time over 2200m behind the improving stable companion Daimyo. If he can bring that run to the races again, he would have an obvious each way chance. 2 MOHANDAS hardly ever runs a bad race. He has been consistent at this level in the past which will naturally give him a good each way chance again. 1 HELIOTROPE steps up in trip again. She is a very consistent filly that should run an honest race again. She must have a place chance at best.

Race 8
This is a great race on paper. 1 SUGAR MOUNTAIN won a great race last time. He brings in some very strong form into this race. From a good draw, he will have an obvious winning chance. 6 LOVE IS A ROSE will give Sugar Mountain plenty to think about here. She is in great form at the moment, and she absolutely loves these conditions. With 54.5kgs on her back, she will have a massive winning chance. 4 PACAYA has run with some of the best horses in the land. He was staying on well last time in the Gr 3 Pocket Power Stakes. This is a small field, If things work out for him, he will always have a winning chance. 8 FLOWER OF SAIGON won a terrific race last time. She travelled beautifully throughout on that occasion and kicked for home at the perfect time to win well. This is a stronger field, but she must have a good Quartet chance if she is able to confirm that last win.

Race 9
It’s time for the lucky last. 5 AMONG THE CLOUDS ran a very good second last time over 1800m. Richard Fourie has been booked to ride her again. This looks to be a very winnable race for the daughter of Lancaster Bomber, and she must be included in all your bets. 8 COULDITBE is very consistent. She likes to race up on speed, if the race works out for her and she can control things from the front, she will always have a good winning chance. 1 PLUM PUDDING is much better than her last run. Her form is good enough to win a race like this, but she will need to put that last run behind her. 6 LICKETY SPLIT will need to improve quite a bit to win a race like this. It’s a small field that lacks solid form which could help her run into the back end of Quartets at a good price. You may want to go wide in all your bets here. It’s not an easy race on paper.
