Sundus Altalib, born in 1989 is a South African-Arab fibre artist specialising in both on and off-loom weaving.
A member of the Cape Guild of Weavers, she has honed her craft under the mentorship of Penny White. After an 11-year, award-winning career in advertising, Altalib transitioned to being a full-time artist and weaver. Originally from Malawi, known as “the warm heart of Africa,” she returned to Cape Town in 2005, where she has lived ever since.
From her home in Sea Point, she “paints with yarn,” often accompanied by her furbaby, Pershy.
