It is with heavy hearts that Cape Racing extend its deepest condolences on the passing of two horse racing legends, Dr Hassen Adams and Rodney Dunn and their respective families.

Their profound dedication and passion for the sport have left an indelible mark on many hearts and the horse racing community, especially in the Western Cape. Their tireless efforts and unwavering commitment to excellence have shaped the horse racing landscape, inspiring countless individuals.

Dr Hassen Adams was a visionary businessman and a fervent supporter of horse racing. His leadership and foresight propelled horse racing to new heights, earning him the admiration and respect of all who knew him.

Similarly, Mr Rodney Dunn’s dedication to horse racing and role as a board member of the Western Province Owners and Trainers Association spanned over 29 years. His contributions to Cape Racing and the wider horse racing community have left an enduring legacy that will be remembered for generations.

In honour of their remarkable contributions, Cape Racing will pay tribute this weekend by naming two races after these esteemed individuals: the ‘In Memory of Dr Hassen Adams Maiden Juvenile Plate’ and the ‘In Memory of Rodney Dunn Maiden Plate’. It is a fitting tribute to their enduring legacy and profound impact on the sport they loved dearly.

Their legacies will live on forever.
